Meet Dr. Michael Richards
I experienced the wonderful effects of Chiropractic care at the age of 14 when I was injured playing football. A low back injury left me unable to walk, sit, or lie for prolonged periods without excruciating lower back pain! My mother took me to numerous medical doctors, and after two weeks on several medications, I was finding no relief. Together, my parents decided to take me to my father’s chiropractor, and after just two adjustments, I was seeing improvement. After two weeks of care, I was pain-free and a believer in Chiropractic from that point forward! CHIROPRACTIC WORKS…PERIOD!
EDUCATION
After graduating from Davenport Central, I attended 3 1/2 years at St. Ambrose University. While at Ambrose, I attended several guest lectures at Palmer Chiropractic College and decided to enroll the following fall. I graduated from Palmer three and a half years later, in 1995, with a Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Health Science.
PERSONAL INTEREST
I am happily married to my wonderful wife, Tracy, and we are raising two beautiful children who bring love and joy to our lives daily. They keep us busy and active throughout the year. We love family playtime, which routinely involves game-time, playing in the backyard, or Kinect games. Our entire family is routinely adjusted by either me or Doctor Kennedy. Balanced diets and exercise are part of our weekly routines.
PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
My primary interest is to serve my patients to the absolute best of my ability - to not only free them from pain but to optimize their physical, emotional, and structural well-being. It's essential to be a well-rounded practitioner, so I've required additional certification. I am certified in the Graston Technique, which treats most acute and chronic soft tissue injuries. More recently, I became certified in acupuncture, which, through both traditional and electronic needle-less acupuncture, works to balance the energy flowing throughout the body. This has been a primary complementary treatment to Chiropractic, and we are experiencing great results with acute and chronic conditions.
In addition to these certifications, I have accumulated well over 200 hours of sports injury rehabilitation to strengthen my patients' postures and areas of sports injuries. Not only are we able to address common injuries such as car accidents, slips, or falls that we all experience in our everyday lives, but we can also address stress and sports-related injuries that are new or chronic. To put it simply, we are well-equipped to serve all of our patient's needs.
I am excited to meet you in person and learn how we may be of service to you. Please give our office a call, and let's set up a time to explore your wellness options.

ABOUT KENNEDY CHIROPRACTIC
Kennedy Chiropractic was established in Moline, Illinois, in 1980 by Dr. Tim Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy recognized the area’s need for an integrative and personalized approach to chiropractic treatments and wanted to apply this philosophy to a clinic in the Quad Cities. When patients come in for care, whether that care is a maintenance adjustment or geared toward pain relief, doctors must be able to diagnose not only what is causing the pain but also how to work towards preventing it from returning.
Dr. Kennedy has now teamed with Dr. Michael Richards to provide our patients with over 55 years of combined experience that includes certifications in the Graston Technique, acupuncture, and significant experience in sports rehabilitation.
